About the Event
Basingstoke Symphony Orchestra performs every year at Petersfield Festival supporting local choral societies with major works under the baton of Paul Spicer as well as performing pieces from its own repertoire.
This year BSO will be playing Parry’s Blest Pair of Sirens followed by an orchestral piece and finally accompanying the choir for Dona Nobis Pacem. Vaughan Williams’ impassioned plea for peace which was inspired by his personal experience of the horrors of WW1 and written in the late 1930's as conflict loomed once again.
