Lucy Scotchmer's captivating performance at Petersfield Festival

Cellist Lucy Scotchmer delivered an exceptional performance at the Petersfield Musical Festival on March 22, 2025. She captivated the audience with Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto No. 1, a piece renowned for its technical demands and expressive depth. Her interpretation was a highlight of the evening's programme, which also featured works by Parry, Delius, and Vaughan Williams. The concert was a collaborative effort, showcasing the talents of the Festival Chorus, comprising the Petersfield and Fernhurst Choral Societies, the Basingstoke Symphony Orchestra, and soloists Caroline Taylor (soprano) and Thomas Humphreys (baritone).
